About the Jamestead Farm

We are Jenna and Mélanie James, owners of Jamestead Farm.
We founded our flock of purebred Border Leicester sheep in 2021 with the purchase of four ewes from a family friend. In 2024, we built our barn and brought our sheep home to our farm in Moose Creek, Ontario. Passionate about sheep farming, we are carefully growing our flock, turning what began as a hobby into a small business.

Our mission: to breed exceptional Border Leicesters, with a focus on wool quality, mothering ability, growth rate, and true breed type.

We are grateful to have discovered the Border Leicester and to have made it our breed of choice. Since then, we have fallen in love with everything they offer, both to us and to our clients. Over the years, this adventure has not only allowed us to expand our knowledge and skills, but also to become part of an inspiring community of sheep farmers and fiber enthusiasts!

We look forward to welcoming you to our farm and sharing our love and passion for sheep with you!
